Adobe & Microsoft Release Critical Security Updates, Fix 111 Vulnerabilities

Adobe and Microsoft have released critical security updates addressing numerous vulnerabilities in their software. Adobe has fixed 27 flaws, while Microsoft has patched 84, including four classified as critical in Microsoft 365.

Adobe's updates, released as four advisories, cover Adobe Acrobat, Reader, Character Animator, Photoshop, and RoboHelp. Notably, CVE-2022-22029 and CVE-2022-22039 are Windows Network File System Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities, with CVSSv3.1 scores of 8.1/10 and 7.5/10 respectively. Another vulnerability, CVE-2022-22038, is a Remote Procedure Call Runtime Remote Code Execution Vulnerability, also scoring 8.1/10.

Microsoft's July 2022 update addresses flaws in Windows, Microsoft Edge, and other software in Microsoft 365. These include Denial of Service (DoS), Elevation of Privilege, Information Disclosure, and Security Feature Bypass vulnerabilities. One vulnerability, CVE-2022-22047, is actively exploited in the wild, allowing Remote Code Execution (RCE). Another critical flaw, CVE-2022-30221, is a Windows Graphics Component Remote Code Execution Vulnerability, scoring 8.8/10.

Users are advised to apply these updates promptly to protect against potential security threats. Adobe's updates address 27 vulnerabilities, while Microsoft's July update fixes 84, including four critical ones in Microsoft 365. One vulnerability is currently being exploited in the wild.
