Applyfor Complimentary Laptops as Declared by the Prime Minister
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a new initiative to distribute 100,000 free laptops among talented students pursuing higher education in Pakistan. This initiative aims to empower the youth of the country and provide them with the necessary tools for success.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the free laptop distribution program, students must meet certain academic requirements. They must be enrolled in a recognised public institution, either pursuing a PhD, MS/MPhil, Master's, or Bachelor's degree. Additionally, students must have a CGPA of 2.80 or 60% marks. First-year university students are required to submit their HSSC (higher secondary school certificate) marks, while MS/PhD students in their first semester need to submit the results of their previous degree.
Application Process
Eligible students can apply for the free laptops through two methods. The first method is by registering through the Prime Minister's Digital Youth Hub (DYH) mobile application. Alternatively, students can visit the PM Youth Programme website at www.pmyp.gov.pk to apply.
Distribution Overview
The laptop distribution will be strictly merit-based, with no favouritism or nepotism involved. The program will cover all four provinces, the federal capital Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. There is a quota system in place, with 18% reserved for students in Balochistan’s higher education institutions and 5% for distance learning students.
The laptops will be allocated to students from all four provinces, the federal capital, Gilgit Baltistan, and AJK. The International Youth Day event in Islamabad on Tuesday was the venue for the announcement of this initiative.
This laptop distribution program is a significant step towards empowering the youth of Pakistan and providing them with the tools they need to succeed in their academic pursuits. By making education more accessible, the government is investing in the future of Pakistan and ensuring that its youth have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
