Dr. Daniel Simandjuntak is currently serving as a Research Associate at the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (Creative PEC) based at Newcastle University. His primary research focus is on the policy and internationalization of the UK's creative industries, particularly within the context of the latest major project on migration within UK creative industries.
Leveraging his multidisciplinary background, Dr. Simandjuntak holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from Nanyang Technological University, an MSc in Development Economics and Policy from The University of Manchester, and a PhD in Food Economics from Penn State University. He has also been the recipient of several prestigious scholarships, including the Singapore International Foundation scholarship, Singapore's MOE Pre-University and ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship, and Indonesia's LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) Scholarship.
Before joining Creative PEC, Dr. Simandjuntak served as an advisor on food policy and trade to the deputy chief of staff at the Executive Office of the President of Indonesia. Prior to this role, he had various roles in consumer banking with Standard Chartered Group in Singapore.
