Astana's Only Transport College Graduates 100-150 Skilled Workers Annually

The Professional Technical College of the Akimat of Astana, the city's sole specialist in transport repair and maintenance, graduates around 100-150 skilled workers annually. These include auto electricians, mechanics, and transport repair fitters. The Nur district of Astana boasts about forty large enterprises dedicated to car repair and maintenance.

The college, with approximately 900 students, is seeing growing demand for its working professions courses. It employs a dual system for training, with 60% practical work on enterprises and 40% theory in the college. This approach ensures graduates are well-prepared for the workforce. The college aims to prevent unemployment among its graduates by keeping them engaged in their chosen specialty.

Last year, the college saw an unexpected surge in interest for auto electricians, with 75 students enrolling instead of the planned 25. This reflects the high demand for these specialists. Graduates have found employment in city auto centers such as Toyota, BMW, Jaguar, and Subaru.

The college and local employers have agreed to strengthen cooperation. They plan to develop practice-oriented education and expand targeted applications from enterprises. This will help ensure the college's curriculum remains relevant and in line with industry needs.
