Athletic event "Dary Kolyma" in regional health sector has come to an end
Regional health marathon "Gifts of Kolyma" concluded with participation from health centers, educational institutes, and students in Magadan Oblast. The event, aimed at fostering creative activities in schools to maintain the health of students with disabilities, placed a strong emphasis on the value and use of Magadan Oblast's natural resources in promoting health.
Held at Magadan Oblast Center of Education No 1, the marathon saw high-ranking officials, including Tatiana Savchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Magadan Oblast Government, Irina Gornostaeva, Acting Minister of Education, Alexander Vitko, Minister of Health and Demographic Policy, and Sergey Kucherenko, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, in attendance. Dmitriy Borovikov, Chief Physician of the "Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Magadan Oblast," and representatives from "Medical College of the Ministry of Health and Demographic Policy of Magadan Oblast" were also present.
Each participating institution showcased their work during the marathon, with Magadan Oblast Center of Education No 1 presenting a poetry project, educators and students from Center of Education No 2 performing a theatrical production, and the delegation from the Oblast Boarding School displaying their creative works.
Tatiana Savchenko thanked all participants for their creative approach, organizers, and partners for the exciting and productive health marathon. Savchenko highlighted the importance of preserving health, emphasizing that President Vladimir Putin considers people and their health to be the most significant aspects. This marathon, Savchenko added, represented an important step towards a serious program for health preservation, particularly for special children who appreciate health and create unique items through their work.
The winners of the regional marathon were announced, with Magadan Oblast Center of Education No. 1 taking first place, the Magadan Oblast Boarding School securing second, and Magadan Oblast Center of Education No. 2 earning third. The event was supported by various partners, including the Arctic Research Center of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, "Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Magadan Oblast," Magadan Oblast Organization of the Russian Federation's Trade Union of Education and Science Workers, "Medical College of the Ministry of Health and Demographic Policy of Magadan Oblast," and "Gifts of Kolyma" family enterprise.
In recent years, initiating events that focus on inclusive education and health promotion has been a priority for various regions. Similar initiatives have demonstrated success in raising awareness about the capabilities and needs of students with disabilities, enhancing their health and well-being, and demonstrating the importance of integrating physical activity into educational programs for students with disabilities.
