Pearl Academy Integrates XR Technology into Business Education

Pearl Academy, a leading institution in creative and design education, is revolutionizing business education by integrating Extended Reality (XR) technology into its curriculum. This innovative approach, demonstrated by the academy's partnership with INSEAD XR Lab, offers immersive, experiential learning that places students inside complex, high-stakes business scenarios.

The collaboration brings a bold, immersive layer to business learning, according to Amod Vijayvargiya, Director of Pearl Academy School of Business. This partnership leverages INSEAD's XR Library and faculty-designed immersive content, reshaping management education to be more relevant, engaging, and practical.

The XR Simulation Workshop at PSB featured two cutting-edge simulations: The Avocado Case and Mission to Mars. These simulations enhance emotional connection, critical thinking, and deep understanding beyond traditional case studies. They move learners from passive reception to active participation, making abstract and complex business concepts more tangible and memorable.

The Avocado Case focuses on strategic decision-making, while Mission to Mars enhances critical thinking and collaboration. During the simulations, students were transported to high-impact environments using VR headsets, allowing them to practice skills and refine decisions in safe, risk-free settings.

This approach fosters enhanced engagement and active learning, real-world simulation of leadership and decision-making, personalized and adaptive education, collaboration and professional networking, and future-readiness for evolving industries. XR technology aligns education with cutting-edge business tools and practices, preparing students for the workforce demands of emerging digital economies.
