The National Science and Technology (NST) Fair 2025 and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) Fair 2025 have officially opened their doors to the public. These exciting events, happening nationwide throughout August, are located at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok.

The theme of the MHESI Fair 2025 is "Creators of Tomorrow," reflecting the Ministry's mission to drive national development through higher education, science, research, and innovation. The NST Fair 2025 carries the theme "Science in Action! For Sustainable Communities," emphasizing hands-on science experiences for sustainable development.

Key features of these fairs include:

  • The MHESI Fair spans over 23,000 square meters with seven themed zones, showcasing the ‘7 wonders’ highlighting cutting-edge innovations.
  • The NST Fair occupies around 10,000 square meters and features interactive exhibits such as "Quantum Quest," "Brain Inside Out," "Mystery of Svalbard," and "Little Inventor," promoting science engagement and education.
  • Both fairs feature collaborations with eight partner countries, 97 organizations (government bodies, universities, private enterprises), and highlight international cooperation, notably with China for its 50th diplomatic anniversary with Thailand at this year’s event.
  • The MHESI Fair’s zone “Valley of Growth” displays breakthrough Thai innovations under the sub-theme “Universe of SRI: The Universe of Science, Research and Innovation,” focusing on real-world applications advancing Thai science and technology.

Notable exhibits include:

  • Activewear from Thai Silk, combining traditional materials with innovation.
  • Low-Energy Ion Beam Technology for Rice Breeding, reducing strain improvement time to 2.5 years without GMOs or radioactivity, developed by Chiang Mai University.
  • Cassava-Based Bioplastic Food Packaging, biodegradable, extends food shelf life, and supports local waste management, developed by Kasetsart University.
  • International exhibits such as China’s special scientific displays, reflecting strong Thai-Chinese cooperation.
  • Real asteroid fragments from space, the Ryugu asteroid sample, are exhibited in Asia for the first time at the NST Fair 2025.

Additional attractions at the NST Fair 2025 include Bangkok Road, a city management learning game, and a virtual reality journey into the dream world of science, known as the VR automotive experience. The fair also offers a simulated Thai University Central Admission System test, the Virtual TCAS exam centre, providing instant results and A-Level problem-solving tips.

The NST Fair 2025 also showcases the '7 wonders' and has exhibits from eight partner countries and 97 organisations. Zone E focuses on innovations for better living in the future, Zone G is a nationwide innovation market offering over 20,000 products from 350 vendors. Zone D showcases innovations shaping the future of Thai enterprises, while Zone C aims to nurture young innovators and empower Thai businesses for the future. Zone B is a game-based learning space, and Zone F is dedicated to the fusion of science with human imagination.

Admission to both fairs is free, and the exhibitions run until August 17, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok. The MHESI Fair is held in Halls 1–4 (G floor), while the NST Fair is in Halls 5–6 (LG floor). Don't miss out on this opportunity to explore the wonders of science and innovation!
