Danielle Amrine assumes role as new CEO at NorthKey Community Care
Danielle Amrine, a seasoned professional with over 17 years of experience in nonprofit management, mental health services, and community engagement, has been appointed as the new CEO of NorthKey Community Care. Amrine began her role on April 7, taking over from Dr. Owen Nichols who has retired after years of leadership and service.
Amrine holds an MBA from Thomas More University and a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in mental health from the University of Kentucky. She further earned a CORE Business Certification in financial accounting, business analytics, and economics for managers from Harvard Business School.
Before joining NorthKey Community Care, Amrine served as CEO of Welcome House, Inc., where she made significant strides. Under her leadership, Welcome House expanded services to 40 counties across Kentucky. She also secured substantial funding, including $2.5 million from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund and $7.5 million in special HUD funding. This funding enabled the organisation to nearly triple its operating budget.
Amrine's tenure at Welcome House was marked by her strategic vision, innovative thinking, employee collaboration, and building strong relationships with funders, donors, and community leaders. Her efforts were recognised when she was honoured as the Outstanding Woman of Northern Kentucky by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and received the 2024 Lynn Luallen Innovation Award from the Kentucky Housing Corporation.
NorthKey Community Care is looking forward to working with Amrine to reach people who need their help. NorthKey Board Chair Blair Whitaker expressed gratitude to Dr. Nichols for his role in making NorthKey what it is today and welcomed Amrine, saying, "We are thrilled to have Danielle join our team. Her extensive experience and proven track record of success make her an ideal fit for NorthKey."
Amrine expressed her eagerness to work with the NorthKey team and continue delivering exceptional value to clients. "I am honoured to join NorthKey Community Care and build on the strong foundation established by Dr. Nichols. I am excited to work with the dedicated team to continue making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve," said Amrine.
NorthKey Community Care is a nonprofit organisation that provides mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and community engagement programmes. The organisation is grateful to Dr. Nichols for his years of leadership and service and looks forward to a bright future under Amrine's leadership.
