Danielle Amrine takes up leadership role as the new CEO at NorthKey Community Care
Danielle Amrine has taken over as the CEO of NorthKey Community Care, effective from April 7. Amrine, who previously served as CEO of Covington-based homeless services provider Welcome House, Inc., is set to bring her wealth of experience in nonprofit management, mental health services, and college board engagement to her new role.
NorthKey Community Care is thrilled to have Amrine on board. Blair Whitaker, the Board Chair of NorthKey, expressed his gratitude for Amrine's strategic vision, innovative thinking, employee collaboration, and strong relationships with funders, donors, and community leaders.
Amrine's tenure at Welcome House was marked by significant expansion and growth. Under her leadership, the organisation expanded services to 40 counties across Kentucky, nearly tripled its operating budget, and secured substantial funding. Notable achievements include securing $2.5 million from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund and $7.5 million in special HUD funding. The organisation also successfully applied for $37 million in New Markets and Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.
Amrine's contributions to the sector have not gone unnoticed. She was honoured as the Outstanding Woman of Northern Kentucky by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and received the 2024 Lynn Luallen Innovation Award from the Kentucky Housing Corporation.
Amrine holds an MBA from Thomas More University and a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in mental health from the University of Kentucky. She also earned a CORE Business Certification in financial accounting, business analytics, and economics for managers from Harvard Business School.
Amrine has expressed her intention to continue delivering exceptional value to NorthKey's clients and reach those who need their help. She stated that she is honoured to join NorthKey Community Care and looks forward to working with the talented team.
NorthKey Board Chair Blair Whitaker also took the opportunity to express gratitude to Dr. Owen Nichols for his years of leadership and service to NorthKey. Nichols has retired from the organisation. Whitaker wished Nichols all the best in his future endeavours.
