Vaibhavi Deshmukh, daughter of the late Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, has stunned everyone by scoring an inspiring 85.33% in her Class 12 Science stream exams - all while grappling with the grief of her father's untimely demise.
Pune tales had been filled with disheartening news about her father's brutal murder on December 9, 2024. Santosh Deshmukh, the much-loved Massajog sarpanch, lost his life after confronting alleged extortionists from a windmill company on their premises. Despite the tumultuous political and social unrest that ensued, Vaibhavi remarkably stayed focused on her studies.
Her subject-wise scores include 63 in English, 83 in Marathi, 94 in Mathematics, 83 in Physics, 91 in Chemistry, and 98 in Biology. That's a whopping 512 marks out of 600, proving her tenacity in the face of adversity.
Saddened by her father's untimely demise, Vaibhavi had to juggle class prep with her uncle Dhananjay Deshmukh's ongoing legal efforts in pursuit of justice. Yet, she refused to let adversity derail her. Despite missing out on ample preparation for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET) exams, she sixth-sensed the importance of her Class 12 board exams.
"My father would've been proud of my Class 12 results. I wrote the NEET exam yesterday, but I don't anticipate a high score. I demand the death penalty for those who murdered my father and the arrest of the remaining at-large accused," she shared.
Vaibhavi's resilience has earned her recognition and praise from admirers, including Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Baramati MP Supriya Sule.
Mr. Shinde expressed, "After losing her father, Santosh Deshmukh, Vaibhavi overcame considerable emotional and social challenges to score 85.13% in her exams. Her success transcends academics - a symbol of strength, resilience, and hope."
