EFN's Bridge 2024 Unites 100 Abolitionists Across Europe

The European Freedom Network (EFN) recently held its Bridge 2024 conference in Lisbon, bringing together over 100 abolitionists from 27 countries. The event, themed 'Connect, Collaborate and Create', aimed to foster connections and plan projects across cultural and organisational lines.

The conference was almost entirely member-led, with topics and sessions decided through real-time polling and facilitated by members themselves. Key organisers included EFN members Elsa Pereira and Timóteo Cavaco, who played crucial roles in making the event a success.

Participants enjoyed morning prayer sessions, worship in multiple languages, and the formation of new networks. Topics covered a wide range, including Church Engagement, Jobs for Survivors, Ethical Storytelling, and Staff Health. Notably, Connie Duarte from the European Evangelical Alliance shared devotionals, encouraging attendees to stay connected and supported throughout the event.

Stieneke van der Graaf, a former Dutch parliament member, offered practical insights into political advocacy, providing attendees with valuable tools to combat human trafficking and commercial exploitation.

The Bridge 2024 conference in Lisbon successfully brought together abolitionists from across Europe, fostering connections and collaboration. With its diverse range of topics and member-led approach, the event reflected EFN's mission to combat human trafficking and commercial exploitation.
