Einstein Bros. Bagels Revamps Stores, Expands Reach With 'Elevate the Morning' Design

Einstein Bros. Bagels, a prominent bagel chain, is revamping its stores with a 'news today' design and expanding its reach. The company is not retiring the Bruegger's brand, which remains a key part of its portfolio.

Einstein Bros. is unveiling a 'news' store design, 'Elevate the Morning', aiming to create a premium fast-casual breakfast experience. Cincinnati is set to be the hub for this innovation, with an existing Einstein unit undergoing remodeling and five Bruegger's units being converted to Einstein.

The company plans to open over 100 new bakeries in existing and new markets by 2026. These include Ohio, Utah, Georgia, and Nevada. In addition, the 'news' store layout will be introduced in cities like Houston, Denver, Dallas, and Phoenix in the coming years.

Einstein Bros. ended 2024 with impressive growth, reporting $649 million in sales, a 11% increase year-over-year, and 689 units, a 2% rise. Meanwhile, Manhattan Bagel had 68 units and sales of nearly $52 million, a 9% increase. Bruegger's saw sales of $180 million, up 3%, but a nearly 2% decrease in unit count to 179 units. Noah's NY Bagels also performed well, with nearly $90 million in sales, a nearly 12% increase.

The 'news' store design includes enhanced in-store dining and online ordering convenience. Bruegger's loyalty members can convert their reward points to Einstein and receive a 500-point bonus.

Einstein Bros. Bagels' expansion and store redesign reflect the company's commitment to growth and improving the 'target' experience. With a strong performance across its brands in 2024, the company looks set to continue its momentum in the coming years.
