Enhancing Collaboration between UAE and Indonesia: Digital and Leadership Projects Announced
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia have launched a new phase in their strategic partnership on government modernization, marking a qualitative step forward in their collaboration. The announcement was made during a forum that brought together senior officials from both countries to exchange best practices in strategy, innovation, competitiveness, and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Nezar Patria, Indonesia's Vice Minister for Communications and Informatics, underlined his country's priorities in digital education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He noted that the partnership with the UAE supports Indonesia's long-term transformation goals.
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange in the UAE, echoed this sentiment, stating that the forum offers a platform to review achievements and explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two nations.
One such initiative is the '10 Million Indonesian Coders' programme, aimed at equipping Indonesian youth with coding and digital skills. This programme, along with the Executive Leadership Programme, which focuses on areas such as digital transformation, sustainable growth, and agile leadership, were not specifically mentioned as being discussed during the forum. However, they are key components of the partnership, as stated by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, when he presented the collaboration initiatives with Indonesia in 2018.
The Executive Leadership Programme, designed to develop the capacity of senior Indonesian government officials, is another initiative under this partnership. This programme builds on the UAE's Government Experience Exchange Programme, launched in 2018, which has facilitated partnerships worldwide to strengthen institutional capacity and government performance.
The UAE's Government Experience Exchange Programme is a testament to the country's vision of investing in people and preparing societies for the future, as stated by Al Gergawi. Building leadership and coding communities has become a key pillar of the UAE's global partnerships.
While it was not stated whether any new news initiatives were announced during the forum, the focus of the discussions was on exchanging best practices and exploring new opportunities for cooperation. The partnership between the UAE and Indonesia continues to mark a significant step forward in government modernization and digital transformation.
