Ev. Grundschule Loehne-Obernbeck Wins 'Healthy Schools' Award for Promoting Health and Well-being
The 'Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis' award was recently presented to Ev. Grundschule Loehne-Obernbeck. Renata Lleshi, a Kreis-Gesundheitsamt employee, and sports scientist Pascal Kramer handed the award to teacher Katrin Wessel and Daniel Gieselmann. The 'Healthy Schools' program, running for nine years, supports schools in promoting health and well-being.
The winning school, Ev. Grundschule Loehne-Obernbeck, offered students activities on dental health, healthy nutrition, and social training. These were led by external experts with the support of Renata Lleshi, the project leader. Lleshi, who can be contacted through the Kreis Herford health department's website, stresses the importance of schools in promoting health, as not all children receive such education at home.
The 'Healthy Schools' program offers free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff. It also provides advice on 'growing up healthy' for young people, parents, and teaching staff in the Herford district. Schools implementing at least three health-promoting measures and one for teaching staff health were recognized. Other recipients included Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg in Herford, Grundschule in Westerenger, and Erich-Kaestner-Gesamtschule in Buende and Kirchlengern.
The 'Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis' program, supported by the Kreis-Gesundheitsamt, continues to promote health and well-being in schools. Renata Lleshi and Pascal Kramer presented the award, highlighting the success of Ev. Grundschule Loehne-Obernbeck in implementing health-promoting measures. Schools interested in participating can contact Lleshi or the business office of the Gesundheitskonferenz for more information.
