Exam Guidelines for SBI PO 2025: Review Dress Code, Shift Schedules

The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the dates for the Probationary Officer (PO) Prelims Exam 2025. The examination is scheduled for August 2, 4, and 5, 2025. Here are the essential guidelines and important dates for candidates preparing for the SBI PO Prelims Exam.

Admit Card

The admit card for the SBI PO Prelims Exam has been announced by the authorities. Candidates can download their admit card from July 25 to August 5, 2025, using their valid registration number/roll number and password/date of birth. It is crucial for candidates to carefully check their admit card for the prescribed shift timing.

Exam Pattern

The SBI PO exam will be conducted online. The preliminary examination comprises 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks, with a test duration of 1 hour. The exam will be divided into three sections: English Language (40 questions, 100 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (30 questions, 30 marks), and Reasoning Ability (30 questions, 30 marks). Each section will have a duration of 20 minutes.

Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates must adhere to punctuality on the examination day and arrive at the test centre as per the reporting time given in the call letter. Latecomers will not be permitted to take the test. Candidates should reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the test commencement and carry out all verification formalities as per the instructions.

It is essential for candidates to attach their recent passport-size photograph (same as provided in the online application form) in the provided space of the admit card and carry it with them along with 2 additional photographs (to be pasted on Attendance sheets) and photo identity proof to the test centre.

Candidates should also carry their stationery, such as ballpoint pen, to the exam hall. Aspirants must submit the documents like Rough Sheets and Scribe Declaration Form (if applicable) before leaving the Lab/Venue.

Exam Day Conduct

Candidates must go through the "Acquaint Yourself Booklet" to keep the decorum in the exam centre. Candidates should not leave their seat unless they are permitted. Candidates must do all the necessary rough work on the provided sheets and submit them after the test is over.

The use of Books, Notes, Calculators, Cell Phones, Slide rulers, Notebooks, or written notes is strictly prohibited in the exam hall.

Shifts and Timings

The SBI PO Prelims exam for 2025 is scheduled to be conducted in four shifts on August 2, 4, and 5. The shift timings for each of these dates are as follows:

  • Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (report by 8:00 AM)
  • Shift 2: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM (report by 10:30 AM)
  • Shift 3: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (report by 1:00 PM)
  • Shift 4: 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM (report by 3:30 PM)

However, there is a note that the exams on August 4 and 5 are confirmed for prelims, while August 2 also had exams in four shifts. Candidates must check their admit cards for the specific shift timing assigned, as reporting times and exact slots are crucial for smooth verification.

Selection Process

The selection process for SBI PO 2025 includes three phases: Preliminary Examination, Main examination, and Psychometric Test, Group exercise & Interview.
