Finalists Announced for the Top 17 Social Initiatives in Sverdlovsk Region from the Major Accelerator Program
The Sverdlovsk Region has recently concluded its Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator, a three-month programme running from June 10 to September 12, 2025. Organised by the Sverdlovsk Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Support (SRFES) in collaboration with the Sverdlovsk Regional Government and the Fund for Social Project Support, the accelerator aimed to foster and support social entrepreneurship projects.
A total of 35 budding and existing entrepreneurs participated in the accelerator, which included online intensives, expert sessions, and work with personal trackers. Among the projects that participated, 17 were presented as the best during the accelerator.
Notable finalists included the Revda Lighting Equipment Plant and the "Dzhinotzhim" project, both of which provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Other finalists included a family choir, a hairdressing school, and clothing for special children, among others.
The "Russian Speech Without Borders" project, which creates an accessible, professional environment for launching, developing, and supporting Russian speech for children aged 2 to 11, did not participate in the accelerator. Similarly, the Yekaterinburg project "MamaMia", which brings children and mothers together through choral singing, the Uralmash project "Open Stage", which provides opportunities for almost anyone to perform, and the Kombezmamapapa project, which focuses on providing adaptive clothing solutions for people with disabilities, particularly for those with cerebral palsy, were not part of the accelerator as well.
The "Techno-kids of Polevskoy" and "Wow, Robots!" projects, which help unlock the engineering potential of the younger generation, were also not part of the accelerator. However, they are commendable initiatives in their own right, contributing to the development of the region's youth.
Dmitry Ionin, Deputy Governor and Minister of Investments and Development of Sverdlovsk region, stated that the region is among the leaders in Russia by the number of social entrepreneurship entities. Valery Pilichev, Director of the Sverdlovsk Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Support, noted that this year they launched several accelerators, including one for social entrepreneurs.
The Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator was part of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy." The regional Department of Information Policy reported this news from the Sverdlovsk region.
One of the beneficiaries of the accelerator was Yevgeniya Furmanskaya, the creator and director of the family center "MamaMia." She found the social project accelerator beneficial for analyzing and improving her project's presentation. The accelerator's conclusion marks a significant step forward in fostering social entrepreneurship in the Sverdlovsk Region.
