Gütersloh honors the richness of fair trade offerings
The Fair Week, Germany's largest annual campaign for fair trade, is set to return from September 12th to 26th, 2025. This year-long initiative is a collaborative effort between various organisations, including the Forum Fair Trade, the Fair Trade Association, Fairtrade Germany, the Fair Fulda agenda group, the Local Agenda Office Fulda, and the Environmental Centre Fulda.
In Berlin, visitors can look forward to a day of eco-friendly fun on Berliner Platz on September 22nd. Here, they can calculate their ecological footprint, learn about climate-friendly tips, and participate in DIY activities. The day promises a colorful program, with a children's program, photo action, tasting stands, a wheel of fortune, a wine stand, and more.
Gütersloh, a Fairtrade City, will also be participating in the Fair Week with a diverse program. The anniversary celebration of the world shop in Gütersloh will take place on September 13th, followed by a fair breakfast at the House of Encounter on September 17th, from 10 am to 12 pm. A special fair chocolate has been developed for Gütersloh's anniversary, signifying sustainable enjoyment.
On September 23rd, a lecture about the history and future of fair trade will take place in the world shop in Gütersloh at 7:30 pm. Additionally, the steering group for fair trade will present itself at the Bürgerfest on the Theodor-Heuss-Platz in Gütersloh on September 20th, between 11 am and 5 pm.
For those interested in fair coffee and learning about engagement opportunities, the Bürgerfest offers a chance for conversation. Interested parties can find further details, an event calendar, and shopping opportunities for fair-trade products at www.fairewoche.de.
The Fair Week will also feature additional actions such as a city tour, an online escape room for students, and discount offers in participating shops in Gütersloh. For the first time, a Fairtrade flag will fly on the town hall square throughout the entire Fair Week in Gütersloh.

World Shops, action groups, companies, supermarkets, catering businesses, and other initiatives participate in the Fair Week, making it a nationwide celebration of sustainable living.
