High School Seniors Now Entering Second Year under Direct Admission Scheme by Niche, with Thomas More as Participant

Thomas More University has taken a significant stride in streamlining the college admissions process with the launch of its second year of Niche Direct Admissions. This innovative program, which partners with Niche, a leading college connection platform, is transforming how colleges connect with students and build their future classes.

With Niche Direct Admissions, students can explore detailed information about the college within their Niche account. This includes instant acceptance status and upfront scholarship offers for those who meet the criteria set by the institutions. The program is designed to connect institutions like Thomas More with more students beyond their local communities, thereby broadening the diversity of its student body.

In the fall of 2025, approximately 20 first-year students in Thomas More's incoming class received their admission offers through Niche. The first incoming class hails from across the country, reflecting the program's ability to reach a wider pool of talented students. This trend of streamlined admissions is being seen across colleges and universities in the U.S.

The direct admissions program aligns with Thomas More University's mission to offer a high-quality, values-based Catholic liberal arts education to students of all faiths and beliefs. Justin Vogel, assistant vice president for enrollment at Thomas More, stated that the first year of the program was a success.

Direct admissions programs are expanding nationwide to break down barriers for students, including Pell Grant-eligible, first-generation, or underrepresented students. These initiatives aim to simplify and automate offers of admission and financial aid, thereby increasing college access for these groups.
