India's Ultra-Wealthy: Older Generations Dominate, But Young Entrepreneurs Emerge

The M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 reveals a significant presence of older generations among the ultra-wealthy. However, the emergence of young entrepreneurs signals a shift in India's wealth landscape.

The list is dominated by Baby Boomers, who account for 54.6%, followed by Generation X at 28.1%. The Silent Generation makes up 10.8% of the list. Meanwhile, Millennials (1981-1996) and Gen Z (born in or after 1997) combined represent 7%.

Mukesh Ambani, 68, leads the list with a wealth of INR 9.55 lakh crore ($105 billion). Gautam Adani and family follow with INR 8.15 lakh crore. Despite their youth, entrepreneurs like Kaivalya Vohra (22, Zepto) and Aravind Srinivas (31, Rs 21,190 crore) are making their mark. Bollywood's first billionaire, Shah Rukh Khan (Rs 12,490 crore), and Roshni Nadar Malhotra (HCL, Rs 2.84 lakh crore) also feature prominently.

The 2025 rich list shows that while older generations still hold the majority of India's ultra-wealth, the presence of young entrepreneurs signals an early emergence of a new wave of young wealth creators. This shift may reshape India's wealth landscape in the coming years.
