Two British men, Ayub Qassim and Steven Roccas, who rented an Airbnb on the Spanish island and were summoned to the initial hearing, did not attend.
Slater's body was found by a mountain rescue team near the village of Masca on July 15, 2024, 29 days after he went missing during a holiday with friends. Forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd found no sign of injuries associated with Jay having been assaulted prior to his death. However, Dr Shepherd's post-mortem examination could not rule out the possibility that Jay had been pushed, although there was nothing to indicate an assault.
