Issues with Timely Student Parking Permit Processing
In an update for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester, students at Cypress College are advised to follow a revised parking registration process due to technical difficulties with the new system.
Campus Safety has announced that enforcement of parking rules will not commence until all students have registered. This grace period is intended to give all students a chance to register and avoid potential fines. Students are encouraged to park in designated student areas during this time.
However, due to the technical difficulties, registration is temporarily unavailable for those who have not yet arrived on campus. In such cases, students are advised to pick up their parking permits directly at the Campus Safety Office starting from August 29, 2025. To do so, students must have registered their vehicles online first, but if they are unable to complete the process digitally, the physical permit pickup at the office is available.
The process to register vehicles online involves logging into the Parking Permit Registration system with a student ID email and myGateway password, filling out required profile and vehicle information, saving the vehicle details, and obtaining a temporary printable permit. The permanent permit will be mailed to the provided address.
Efforts are being made to resolve the technical difficulties as quickly as possible. An update will be provided once the system is fully operational and enforcement is scheduled to begin. In the meantime, no parking citations are being issued during the grace period.
Students who have already registered and purchased a permit are thanked for their patience. No action is required for these students. The technical difficulties are specific to the parking registration system and do not affect other college services.
It is important to note that during the grace period, students should not park in reserved, staff, ADA (unless possessing an ADA permit), or fire lane areas to avoid potential fines.
A formal apology has been issued for the inconvenience caused by the technical difficulties. The college appreciates the understanding and cooperation of its students during this time.
For more information, students are encouraged to visit the Campus Safety Office or check the college's official website for updates.
