Ivorian organization VITIB collaborates with Ynov and Magic System to strengthen digital competencies among youth in Côte d'Ivoire.
In a significant move towards Africa's digital future, the Village of Information Technologies and Biotechnology (VITIB) in Grand-Bassam, Ivory Coast, has forged strategic partnerships that promise to revolutionise digital education and job opportunities in the region.
The first of these partnerships is with Ynov Campus, a French educational group. This collaboration marks the establishment of the first Ynov Campus in sub-Saharan Africa, set to offer comprehensive training in key digital technology fields such as web development, data science, digital design, audiovisual production, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The aim is to address the growing need for skilled technology professionals and contribute to economic growth through digital transformation.
In a separate but complementary agreement, VITIB partnered with the Magic System Foundation to launch the VITIB Digital Academy. This initiative is designed to boost local digital skills, improve youth employability, and help integrate them into the growing jobs market in high-demand tech sectors. Together, these programs aspire to create 40,000 jobs and attract investments of up to $1.6 billion by 2028, signalling a sizable impact on the local economy and workforce development.
These partnerships are strategic responses to the current digital skills gap in Côte d'Ivoire, which is seen as a crucial hub for digital transformation in the region. By focusing on advanced tech training and employability, they position local youth to contribute actively to the continent's emerging digital economy. The initiatives are part of a broader effort to build a competitive and innovative digital ecosystem in Africa, including enhancing capacities in cybersecurity, AI, and other frontier technologies.
These moves align with continental ambitions of digital sovereignty and technological independence, enabling African countries to control their own digital destiny and drive sustainable economic development. The Ynov Abidjan Campus will provide digital technologies, engineering, and tech-driven innovation training, while the VITIB Digital Academy will serve as a hub for capacity building in digital literacy and advanced technical competencies.
These agreements are a testament to VITIB's commitment to building Africa's number one digital city and its strategic vision to position itself as a regional leader in digital excellence, innovation, and youth empowerment. The inaugural Ivoire Tech Forum 2025, attended by the Minister of Digital Transition and Digitalisation, Mr. Ibrahim Kalil Konaté, marked the official signing of these partnerships.
As these initiatives unfold, Côte d'Ivoire is poised to become a beacon of innovation, education, and opportunity, contributing significantly to Africa's digital future and fostering inclusive growth through technology.
The strategic partnership between VITIB and Ynov Campus aims to establish the first Ynov Campus in sub-Saharan Africa, offering comprehensive education in key digital technology fields. This collaboration is designed to contribute to job opportunities and economic growth through digital transformation, falling under the broad scope of education-and-self-development and general-news.
In another partnership, VITIB has joined forces with the Magic System Foundation to launch the VITIB Digital Academy, an initiative intended to boost local digital skills and improve youth employability while targeting the high-demand tech sectors. This program is a part of the technology and education sector, focusing on digital education and technology.
