Kamchatka Boosts Disabled Children's Care With New Equipment
The Kamchatka region has seen significant improvements in its social rehabilitation services for disabled children. Specialized equipment is now in use at the Family Social Assistance Center SEMYA, with over three hundred units of rehabilitation aids acquired. This includes crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, and functional beds. The head of the social welfare ministry in the region received a federal budget grant in 2024 to facilitate these developments.
Fifteen technical aid rental points across Kamchatka's districts have been established, with five of these expanding their range of rehabilitation aids. Alexei Khatchenkov, head of the social service development department, announced these advancements. Notably, the Milkovka children's social rehabilitation center is set to receive new rehabilitation equipment this year. These improvements are made possible by a federal subsidy received in 2024, which has been used to purchase modern equipment for social service institutions throughout the region.
The Kamchatka region's commitment to enhancing social rehabilitation services for disabled children is evident in these recent developments. With specialized equipment now in use and more on the way, the region is better equipped to support and improve the lives of disabled children.
