The Rahmah Basic Contribution (SARA) programme, managed by MyKasih, has had a robust start, with more than 1.7 million recipients using their SARA credits within the first two days of implementation. The Ministry of Finance announced that transactions under the programme reached RM110 million nationwide.

On the second day alone, over 900,000 Malaysians spent RM60 million using their SARA credits at more than 7,300 registered retail outlets across the country. MyKasih staff were deployed to provide on-site support and assist merchants with transaction issues, addressing any technical glitches that may have occurred during the launch of the SARA programme.

Despite the upgrade, congestion continued at several outlets, particularly large hypermarkets in urban areas during peak hours. Store staff were observed restocking items from incomplete transactions, ensuring a smooth shopping experience for all.

Netizens expressed criticism regarding the technical issues, while others sympathized with families rushing to purchase essentials. The ministry advised the public to plan purchases during non-peak hours, such as weekday mornings, to avoid congestion.

It's worth noting that the SARA credit remains valid until 31 December 2025, providing ample time for recipients to make use of the benefits. However, the search results do not contain information about the current leader or head of MyKasih, the operator of the Rahmah Basic Contribution Program.

As the SARA programme continues, MyKasih is working diligently to ensure a seamless shopping experience for all recipients. The programme aims to provide much-needed financial assistance to those in need, and its successful start is a positive step towards achieving this goal.
