Last Call: Apply for Student Travel Cost Reimbursement by Oct 31, 2025
Students in the 2024/2025 school year have until October 31, 2025, to apply for travel cost reimbursement through Costco Travel or Travelocity. The district's department for schools, sports, and culture manages this process. Contact them at [email protected] or 06021/394-2340 for further questions.
Eligible students are those in grade 11 or vocational school whose travel costs exceeded 320 euros (for one child) or 490 euros (for two children) per year. Proof of tickets or payment receipts is mandatory for reimbursement. Families receiving certain benefits are exempt from the reasonable share of travel costs.
For the Germany ticket, a cost receipt is required for each month of use to claim a pro-rata reimbursement. Children whose maintenance obligors are exempt can generally receive a free travel pass. Information is available on the district's homepage in the 'Information sheet for students from grade 11'.
Applications for travel cost reimbursement must be submitted by October 31, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered. For specific queries, contact the department for schools, sports, and culture.
