The UK's leading active travel organisation, Sustrans, is currently recruiting for a Head of New Developments. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead strategic planning, development, and delivery of new infrastructure projects that promote walking and cycling.
In this position, the successful candidate will develop a pipeline of funded work from public, private, and third-sector organisations, helping Sustrans provide data, insight, and advice to decision-makers, enabling them to invest effectively in transport, place-shaping, and their communities.
The Head of New Developments will be responsible for growing the organisation's contribution to the creation of new communities with active mobility at their heart. This involves developing and promoting an offer to partners, drawing on Sustrans' existing infrastructure, behaviour change, and advisory services.
The role requires frequent in-person meetings and site visits, particularly in the Midlands and South of England. However, the position can be based in any of Sustrans' offices.
