Born in Chicago, Illinois, she graduated valedictorian from Whitney Young High School in 1981 and went on to study at Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

Michelle Obama's professional journey began at Sidley & Austin law firm, where she met her future husband, Barack Obama. She later served as Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago. As First Lady, she launched several influential initiatives.

In 2009, she started Let's Move!, focusing on combating childhood obesity through healthy eating and physical activity. The same year, she planted a vegetable garden on the White House lawn to promote healthy eating. In 2011, she launched Joining Forces, supporting military families and veterans. Her Reach Higher initiative, started in 2014, aimed to inspire students to pursue education beyond high school.

Michelle Obama's time as First Lady was marked by her commitment to these initiatives, which she pursued in collaboration with various organizations. Her efforts have left a lasting impact on childhood health, military support, and education attainment.
