Military Personnel Affected by Tuition Assistance Changes to Receive Assistance from Park University in Adjusting to New Regulations
Park University Offers Tuition Waiver for Active Duty Service Members
Park University, a long-standing supporter of U.S. military service members since 1918, has announced a new initiative to assist active duty personnel affected by the recent federal government shutdown. The Missouri-based institution is offering to waive the tuition for one class (up to three credit hours) for active duty service members, guards, or reservists enrolled in the Fall semester or Fall I term, starting from August 19, 2019.
This waiver comes after tuition assistance, GI Bill benefits, and federal student aid benefits have been exhausted. The offer can be taken advantage of by enrolling online at military.our website or by calling the Office of Admissions at (888) 319-9522.
Park University's support for military students is not limited to this recent gesture. Historically, the university has provided military students with a range of benefits, including recognition of military training and experience for academic credit, multiple campus centers (including on military installations), online and hybrid learning options, ROTC programs, and specialized military pathway initiatives. These efforts are designed to accommodate the unique needs of active duty service members and veterans, enabling them to leverage their military experience towards educational advancement.
Currently, Park University offers the following specific support for military students:
- Awarding academic credit for military training through Joint Services Transcripts, professional certifications, and prior learning, maximizing credit transfer and accelerating degree completion.
- More than 20 campus centers nationwide, with some located on military bases, plus flexible online and hybrid classes allowing military students to study from anywhere.
- ROTC programs for officer training and leadership development within the military.
- Specialized pathways tailored to military learners, enhancing their transition between military and academic environments.
This combination of academic credit flexibility, accessible campus and online locations, and supportive military-focused programs demonstrates Park University’s commitment to facilitating higher education for active duty U.S. service members and veterans.
Park University's dedication to serving the military community is evident in its recognition as a top military-friendly college/university and a "Best for Vets" private college/university in the country by various military-related publications since 2009. The university serves more than 16,000 students annually at 42 campuses in 22 states and online.
In the past, Park University has also provided emergency scholarships to active duty military students who weren't eligible for GI Bill benefits during the federal government's sequestration in 2013.
