In the vibrant academic community of Oxford University, two exceptional students, Aery and Lucianna, are making a significant impact through their advocacy work for disabled students.

Aery, a final-year Classics student at Queen's College, originally from London, is the DisCam co-chair and an editor at The Oxford Blue, where she writes passionately about disability and its impact. Aery's writing is deeply personal, drawing from her own experiences as a disabled individual, serving as a powerful form of creative advocacy.

In addition to her role with DisCam, Aery also promotes SusCam, a group she chairs, as an opportunity for students to get involved. Aery has been volunteering with DisCam since her first year and also chairs SusCam.

Lucianna, a finalist at St Anne's College studying English Literature, hails from the Wirral. She has been actively involved in student disability activism and outreach. Lucianna is the College Representatives Officer for DisCam and was her JCR's Disabilities Rep in her second year.

Lucianna's interests lie in working in museums, heritage sites, theaters, or universities in an educational or outreach role. She also plans to further her studies in the medical humanities or Shakespeare studies in the future.

Lucianna has volunteered with groups such as Neurodiversity at Oxford to support neurodivergent university applicants and represent the community at Oxford Pride. In her leisure time, Lucianna dances with a couple of different groups around the city and played with the university ceilidh band.

Both Aery and Lucianna encourage other students to get involved with DisCam, either through committee elections or appointments. Lucianna highlights the relaxed and friendly nature of the DisCam committee, making it an inviting space for students to contribute.

The Oxford SU Disabilities Campaign offers various opportunities for students to engage. These include joining campaign committees or working groups, participating in workshops, meetings, and events, volunteering for outreach activities, and collaborating with university services such as the Disability Advisory Service and college welfare teams.
