Moose Jaw Unveils Priority Sectors and Occupations for Rural Immigration Pilot

The city of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, has outlined its priority sectors and occupations for the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP). The program aims to attract skilled workers to fill job vacancies in specific sectors, leading to permanent residence.

Moose Jaw has identified key sectors for the RCIP, including business, finance, and administration; sales and service; trades and transport; manufacturing and utilities; and education, law, and social services. Candidates must secure a job offer from a designated employer within these sectors to qualify.

The priority occupations span various roles, such as accounting technicians, administrative officers, agricultural inspectors, and automotive parts installers. Employers must recommend suitable candidates to the community for review during intake periods. Once approved, candidates can apply for permanent residence and a work permit.

However, certain sectors and occupations are restricted or excluded from the RCIP. These include gas stations, convenience stores, IT/web development, and establishments with fewer than 10 full-time staff.

Moose Jaw's RCIP focuses on attracting skilled workers to priority sectors and occupations, with a streamlined pathway to permanent residence. Employers play a crucial role in recommending candidates, and successful applicants can secure a work permit and eventually settle permanently in the city.
