National Agricultural Contest "AgroNTRI - 2025" in Russia

Ural State Agrarian University to Host AgroNTRi Competition

In theScope of the AgroNTRi-2025 competition, Ural State Agrarian University secured the rights to host the event in the Sverdlovsk region, welcoming students from the Ural Federal District to participate. The annual event, divided into three stages—online, regional, and final—aims to elevate the prestige of agricultural professions and introduce students to modern agricultural technologies.

Held across various cities in the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Novosibirsk regions, and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, the competition attracted students from grades 5 to 11. Participants were divided into three age categories, with tasks focusing on agricultural innovation, city development, and biology.

"After the online qualifying round, we received almost 1000 applications from students nationwide. In the on-site round, over 100 students from 90 educational institutions were selected to compete. The tasks were challenging, but our talented students excelled," said Olga Safina, head of the career development and professional orientation department at Ural State Agrarian University.

Notable speakers at the event's opening ceremony included Natalia Lomovtseva, Ural State Agrarian University's pro-rector for educational activities and digitalization, and Olga Loshenkova, head of the Sverdlovsk branch of Rosselkhozbank. Lomovtseva highlighted the benefits of AgroNTRi, stating it offers school graduates the chance to earn additional EGE points for university admission and the opportunity to compete for a spot in the 'Artek' camp through the 'Innoschool' program.

At Ural State Agrarian University, students engaged in competition tasks in three categories: AgroSmart, AgroCity, and AgroBios. These categories focused on working with innovative robotic solutions, exploring urban agriculture using artificial intelligence, and investigating microorganisms and plant bio-protection.

The winners were determined and will proceed to the final round in Moscow in September-October 2025. Acknowledging the high level of organization, Galina Stikhina, a biology teacher from School No. 137 in Ekaterinburg, expressed gratitude towards Ural State Agrarian University. Encouraged by the competition, Stikhina hoped for more initiatives like 'AgroVet' in the future.

Competitions in the fields of agriculture and technology promote innovation, enhance education, offer career opportunities, and foster community engagement. AgroNTRi, tailored towards rural and small-town educational institutions in Russia, likely addresses challenges in areas such as access to education, agricultural education, and community development.

Science and education-and-self-development are closely tied to the AgroNTRi competition, as the event aims to introduce students to modern agricultural technologies and inspire innovation in the field of agriculture. Online-education and learning are also integral parts of the competition, as it begins with an online qualifying round.
