At the Municipal Computing Center Niederrhein (KRZN), a unique approach to employee training is being implemented. The highlight of the induction week for new apprentices and students is a trip to a virtual reality escape room.

Older apprentices, students, and young employees provide advisory support to their new colleagues, ensuring a smooth transition into the KRZN family. Interested individuals can find more information about entry opportunities on the KRZN website.

The virtual reality escape room offers a stimulating environment where participants must decode clues, solve complex puzzles, and collaborate effectively under time constraints. This immersive experience enhances cognitive abilities like critical thinking and flexible problem-solving, directly transferable to IT tasks.

Teamwork, communication, and creative thinking are essential in the virtual reality escape room. Working in teams helps apprentices improve communication and cooperation, key competencies in IT work settings. The shared experience of overcoming challenges also builds camaraderie and trust, helping students develop professional interpersonal skills.

Escape rooms serve as innovative educational tools that foster both technical and soft skills in IT apprentices, preparing them better for complex problem-solving and collaboration in real-world computing environments.

Applications for the training at KRZN start in August 2026 and will be accepted until October 5, 2025. For daily updates on news, services, and features in Moers, subscribe to the Moers Newsletter. Please note that by signing up for the newsletter, one agrees to the Advertising Agreement.
