Nizhny Novgorod's RVMH Branch Engages 5,000 in 2025, Plans Regional Expansion

The Nizhny Novgorod region's Russian Military-Historical Society (RVMH) branch has been actively promoting historical education and preservation. In 2025, it held over 100 events, engaging around 5,000 people. The branch, with over 300 members, is set to establish a regional branch in 2026 and has plans to expand its reach further.

The RVMH branch in Nizhny Novgorod has been expanding its presence. In 2025, it activated the creation of local branches, resulting in 11 new ones and plans for 13 more. The branch also published a book, 'Aviators', dedicated to the labor collectives of the region's aircraft plants. Notably, Gleb Nikitin, the region's governor, was elected as the chairman of the regional branch by a general vote in July 2025.

The branch has been involved in various educational and memorial activities. It organized a summer historical school and donated books to school libraries in the godson city of Khartsyzsk. The branch is also developing a program of events to commemorate significant anniversaries, including the 805th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod and the 100th anniversary of Dzerzhinsk.

The Nizhny Novgorod region's RVMH branch has shown significant growth and engagement in 2025.
