NKU & Duke Energy Unveil State-of-the-Art Innovation Lab on April 3
Northern Kentucky University (NKU) has collaborated with Duke Energy to establish a state-of-the-art innovation lab on campus. The Duke Energy Innovation Lab, located in NKU's Griffin Hall, is set to officially open on April 3, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. This partnership aims to foster the next generation of problem-solvers and leaders in the region.
Amy Spiller, president of Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky, emphasised the significance of the partnership with NKU. The lab serves as a workspace for NKU's IoT Club and a hub for student projects, providing hands-on experience with the latest Internet of Things (IoT) technology. It also functions as a teaching space and a destination for K-12 students, offering them an early glimpse into the world of tech innovation.
NKU President Dr. Cady Short-Thompson expressed pride in the collaboration with Duke Energy, highlighting their shared commitment to supporting students and driving economic growth in the region. The lab, situated in the heart of NKU's College of Informatics, focuses on green energy, reflecting both institutions' dedication to sustainability and innovation.
