Omsk's campus layout has been revealed

The Omsk region is set to witness a significant transformation with the construction of a new inter-university campus, scheduled for completion by 2035. Spanning over 215,000 square meters, the campus is expected to be a hub for education, innovation, and collaboration among seven universities and four scientific institutions [1].

The project, which is currently in its early stages, has received high-level government support, with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin making a working visit to Omsk to review the plans [1].

The campus will consist of five academic buildings, student dormitories capable of accommodating 7,800 students, and an aparthotel. It will also feature sports and recreation facilities, business centers, and a technopark. Additionally, a flagship school is part of the campus development [1].

Facilities such as a center for additive technologies, a computing center, and a certification center are also planned for the campus. The campus is expected to have a specialization in various fields, including aerospace, intelligent machinery, chemical and biological technologies, biofortification, digital logistics, instrument making, construction engineering, energy, and future social well-being [1].

The exact timeline for the completion of the campus has not been explicitly reported. However, the initial phase, which includes basic infrastructure, is expected to be completed by 2030. Educational processes are set to begin upon completion of the first phase [1].

The Omsk inter-university campus is a significant investment in the region's education infrastructure, promising to bring state-of-the-art facilities and fostering inter-university collaboration. As more updates emerge, we can expect to gain a clearer understanding of the campus's specialization areas and construction milestones.
