Over 1,200 Honoured at IHK Awards in Bottrop & Gelsenkirchen

Over 1,200 examinees recently gathered in Bottrop and Gelsenkirchen for the annual IHK awards ceremony. The event, opened by FC Schalke 04 board member Christina Rühl-Hamers, honoured the achievements of 41 students who received 'very good' overall grades. Notable awardees included Lena-Marie Bienert, Elif Balci, and Benjamin-Meikel Kaftan, who completed their training as 'Retail Merchant' and 'Salesperson'. Kathrin Gödecke, owner of REWE Gödecke and IHK vice-president, praised the importance of vocational training.

The ceremony was filled with excitement as prize winners received an array of rewards. These included tickets to a Schalke game, a captivating performance by mellowMagic, and a taste of traditional German cuisine with currywurst. Among the awardees were Alexander May, Jonathan Träger, and Zara Yildirim, who demonstrated exceptional skills in their respective fields.

Kathrin Gödecke, the owner of REWE Gödecke, highlighted the significance of vocational training in today's job market. She commended the dedication and hard work of the awardees, emphasizing the crucial role they play in the future of retail and sales.
