Park University designates Dr. Jayme Uden as the new Chief Officer for Human Resources
Jayme Uden has stepped into a significant new role at Park University, taking on the position of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective from March 18, 2024. This appointment marks a significant milestone in Uden's career, as she will now oversee the university's human resources strategy and operations.
Uden's journey with Park University began in July 2011, where she held various student life positions before being appointed as the associate vice president and dean of students in December 2016. Prior to joining Park University, Uden served as an assistant director for residence life at the University of Kansas from 2006 to 2011. Her career in student affairs began even earlier, as a residence life coordinator at Kansas State University from 2003 to 2006.
Uden's extensive experience in student affairs has equipped her with the necessary skills to facilitate employee engagement across the Park network. According to Park University Provost Michelle Myers, Ed.D., Uden's experience will be instrumental in her new role.
In her new position, Uden will oversee and lead various human resources strategies, including talent management, employee relations, training and development, performance improvement, compensation and benefits, organisational development, HR information systems, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, she will serve as the University's Title IX officer.
Uden's educational background is impressive, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Kansas, a Master of Education degree in higher education from Iowa State University, and a Doctor of Education degree in higher education from the University of Kansas. She has also been involved in collegiate student life organisations, including NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
In the past, Uden has held notable positions, such as the past chair of the Missouri Student Affairs Council and a past board member of the Greater Kansas City Housing Information Center. She was also a member of the Northland (Kansas City, Mo.) Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Northland class of 2013-14.
As Uden takes on her new role, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Park University. Her appointment as CHRO is a testament to her dedication and commitment to the university and its community. As she embarks on this new chapter, the university looks forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make.
