Adrian James Appointed as Interim Dean of Park University's College of Management

Adrian James, Ph.D., has been appointed as the interim dean of Park University's College of Management, effective May 1, 2025. In this role, she will serve as the chief administrative, fiscal, and academic officer of the College of Management, which includes the Robert W. Plaster School of Business.

Dr. James brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She has been with Park University since August 2018, having previously served as associate dean and associate professor of management within the College of Management since August 2021. Prior to joining Park University, she was an assistant professor of organizational behavior and leadership at the Westville, Ind., campus of Purdue University Northwest.

Dr. James's academic qualifications are impressive. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University, her Master of Business Administration degree in Management from the same institution, and her Doctorate degree in Leadership, Education, and Communication from Texas A&M University.

Dr. James's involvement in the local community is noteworthy. She resides in Kansas City, Mo. (Northland), and has facilitated workshops and leadership sessions for multiple Kansas City area organizations, including the Kansas City Chiefs. She is also a co-chair of the Platte County Workforce Alliance in Missouri and a vice chair of the Platte County Economic Development Council Board of Directors.

In a previous role, Dr. James spent 3 1/2 years as the program coordinator within the academic success center at Texas A&M University's branch in Qatar. She was also a past board member of the Parkville Area Chamber and Economic Development Council from 2020 to 2022.

While specific details about Dr. James's background and achievements prior to her appointment as interim dean are not publicly documented, she has made significant contributions to Park University since joining in 2018.
