**Park University Appoints Retired Lieutenant Colonel Gary Kerr as Senior Director of Military and Veteran Affairs**
Park University has announced the appointment of retired Lieutenant Colonel Gary Kerr as the Senior Director of Military and Veteran Affairs. This new role will see Kerr overseeing the Park Global Warrior Center, a dedicated resource for military personnel and veterans.
The Park Global Warrior Center is designed to support military students and veterans by providing specialized academic and support services tailored to their unique needs. Kerr brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in the U.S. Army for 23 years. His military career includes positions such as director of training in the Mission Command Training Program at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., executive officer to the commanding general and division future operations planner in the First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kan., and deputy director of the 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Farah, Afghanistan, among others.
Before joining Park University, Kerr served as the department chair and professor in the Department of Military Science and Leadership at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He also earned a Master of Science degree in adult education from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Ohio State University.
In his new role, Kerr will develop and manage strategic partnerships and recruitment activities with a military, veteran, and dependent focus. The goal of these partnerships is to advance Park University's reputation, presence, and enrollment within the military community.
