Politico Welcomes Stascheit into Its Political Realm

New Journalist Joins POLITICO's Berlin Playbook Team

Maximilian Stascheit, a 27-year-old journalist, is set to join POLITICO's team as a reporter for the "Berlin Playbook" starting November 1, 2025.

Stascheit will work under Executive Editor Gordon Repinski, focusing on topics related to the SPD (Social Democratic Party), family and education policy, and digital issues. This marks his return to Axel Springer after previous experiences at Media Pioneer and Table Media, and he was trained at the Axel Springer Academy.

The "Berlin Playbook" is POLITICO's flagship daily newsletter in Germany, launched in early 2024. Stascheit will be working alongside Repinski on this team.

Prior to joining POLITICO, Stascheit served as a news manager at The Pioneer. He is leaving Table.Briefings to take on this new role.

Stascheit's new position at POLITICO will see him joining the Berlin Playbook team, where he will focus on the SPD, family/education, and digital affairs. This diverse portfolio promises to offer a wealth of opportunities for insightful reporting and analysis.
