Positive Evaluation of a Glowing T-Level Solution

In a significant stride towards preparing the next generation for the workforce, T Level courses are offering students valuable real-world experiences and connections through integrated industry placements and close links with employers.

The extended work placements, ranging from 9 to 15 weeks, provide students with invaluable hands-on experience and exposure to workplace environments. This practical learning experience aids in the development of practical skills, confidence, and an understanding of employer expectations, thereby enhancing their readiness for work.

For instance, Johana Safi Kitumaini, a T Level Health student, was recently named 'Student of the Month' in January. Her exceptional performance was compared favourably to undergraduate nursing students, showcasing the practical skills she has honed during her placement. Johana has also been shortlisted for an award during the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust's Apprenticeship Week Celebrations, due to exceptional feedback from a ward Sister on her work placement.

Similarly, Craig Watson, a T Level Business student, secured a placement with the Bottled Baking Company, starting at the end of April. The director of the company was impressed with Craig's preparation for the placement, describing him as a consistent, industrious student who is eager to develop his skills. Craig, who also enjoys completing online courses as part of his self-development, worked on meaningful projects during his placement, such as individual and group projects plus access to certifications like AWS Cloud Practitioner.

Employers also stand to benefit from T Level placements. They gain early access to a pipeline of skilled talent trained in industry-relevant skills, while also reducing recruitment costs and fulfilling corporate social responsibility goals by investing in youth career development.

From September 2025, six T Level courses will be running, adding Media, Broadcast and Production, and Legal Services to the existing courses. This expansion aims to provide even more students with the opportunity to gain practical, industry-relevant experience and connections.

As these students complete their placements and enter the job market, they will do so with a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, making them attractive candidates for apprenticeships, higher education, or direct employment. The T Level program is indeed setting the stage for a promising future for its students in the world of work.

The T Level courses, including those in Health, Business, and the upcoming Media, Broadcast and Production, and Legal Services, offer students a chance for personal growth through practical learning experiences, enhancing their readiness for work and promoting their self-development. Employers benefit from these placements by gaining access to a pipeline of skilled talent trained in industry-relevant skills, investing in youth career development, and reducing recruitment costs.
