Primary School Harassment: Unpleasant Treatment Among Young Pupils
Breaking News: Green Party in Berlin Demands Action Over Bullying Scandal at Carl-Bolle School
The Greens in the Berlin state parliament are screaming foul over the bullying allegations at the Carl-Bolle-Grundschule in Berlin-Moabit, labeling the internal complaint structures as a colossal failure. In the words of education spokesperson Louis Krüger, "A queer teacher was bullied and threatened for months, left no support from the school management, school supervision, and education administration— this needs to change!"
The controversy stems from teacher Oziel Inácio-Stech, who claims to have been harassed, insulted, and bullied by students from Muslim families due to his sexual orientation for months on end. This isn't the only ordeal Inácio-Stech has faced: he also accuses a colleague of bullying and false accusations. The school management and school supervision appear to have blatantly disregarded his pleas for help, leaving him on sick leave for about three months.
Krüger didn't mince words, stating, "In a city like Berlin, queer teachers have the right to feel safe at their workplace. The school management's reluctance to address the issue only underscores the urgent need for an independent complaint office for students, parents, and staff."
Despite widespread attention, the Senator for Education remains mum on the matter, seemingly shying away from addressing the crux of the problem. Krüger is questioning her silence loud and clear, "We demand answers from the Senator for Education—why was the teacher left in the lurch when the situation was known?"
On Thursday, the CDU politician is called to attend the education committee to address the countless questions looming over the incident. Krüger's final word, "Those responsible will not hide; they must face their responsibilities. If Berlin wants a discrimination-free education system, we need to protect our queer teaching staff and support their fight for respect and diversity."
Green MP Calls for Budget Expansion
In light of recent budget cuts, the green MP is insisting on the expansion of programs against discrimination in the education sector. Krüger argues, "So here we are, now witnessing the repercussions of this short-sighted austerity approach."
Die Süddeutsche Zeitung reports that the Carl-Bolle School in Berlin-Moabit is far from an isolated case. Surprisingly, several teachers have come forward to voice their experiences with disrespectful and bigoted behavior from students, with no repercussions ensuing. Both the school management and education administration have yet to respond to a request for comment.

The Green Party in Berlin, beyond their demands for action over the bullying scandal at Carl-Bolle School, is now pushing for a budget expansion in programs against discrimination in the education sector, following the recent budget cuts. Louis Krüger, the Green MP, asserts, "This short-sighted austerity approach has led us here, witnessing the repercussions it has on our teachers and students." Moreover, Krüger questions the silence of the Senator for Education, urging for answers regarding the case at Carl-Bolle School, which seems to be a reflection of broader issues within the education and self-development sector, as reported by Die Süddeutsche Zeitung.
