Public employment agency initiates open recruitment process via computer-based examinations

The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has taken a significant step towards modernizing its recruitment process with the successful implementation of computer-based tests (CBT), a move that has been hailed as a pioneer of government reforms and digitalisation in Sindh.

On Monday, the SPSC conducted its first CBT, testing candidates for the posts of Lecturer in Biology, Pakistan Studies, and Islamic Studies. The CBT system, inaugurated by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on July 17, was a resounding success, with the results for the post of Lecturer Biology (BPS-17) being announced immediately.

Five candidates, Athar Ali, Ghulam Qadir, Arif Khan, Vaneesh Kumar, and Khalid Iqbal, successfully passed the written exam for the post of Lecturer Biology (BPS-17). The new CBT system, which features the instant release of results, saw candidates receiving their online marks sheets within an hour of completing the exam.

The Sindh Chief Minister, in his address, commended the SPSC for its commitment to transparency and merit, stating that the CBT system is proof of the commission's dedication to these principles. He reiterated his commitment to making the recruitment process faster, fairer, and more reliable.

The SPSC chairperson, too, expressed her satisfaction with the successful implementation of the CBT system. She vowed that all future examinations will be conducted through the CBT system, reinforcing the commission's plan to standardize this approach for future exams.

The CBT initiative has opened new avenues for modernizing the recruitment system, with the SPSC setting a new standard for transparency, merit, and public trust. The new system, which has received satisfaction and confidence from candidates, marks a significant step towards "transparent recruitment".

The chief minister paid tribute to the SPSC team and its chairperson for the successful implementation of the CBT system. He emphasized the commission's commitment to merit, justice, and technology, and stated that this is part of the government's agenda for digital transformation and transparency.

The SPSC's new transparent and convenient system has been well-received, with the chief minister hailing the commission as a pioneer of government reforms and digitalisation in Sindh. The successful implementation of the CBT system is a testament to the commission's ability to adapt and innovate, ensuring a more efficient and reliable recruitment process for all.
