Supporting the Future: Wiesbaden's WiesPaten Project

The Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) has been actively involved in the WiesPaten project, an initiative aimed at providing equal opportunities and supporting young people on their individual journeys. This project, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, is a significant pillar for the IHK, as it emphasises education as key to participation and future prospects.

The project offers intensive small group lessons and personal encounters with mentors for young people. These mentorships provide concrete support, offering career guidance and fostering a valuable exchange of perspectives between pupils, committed students, and sponsoring companies.

One such sponsoring company is WICM GmbH, which has formalised its partnership with the Wilhelm-Leuschner School in Kostheim for WiesPaten sponsorship. The deputy managing director of WICM, Simon Rottloff, stated that this partnership benefits both the students and the company, as it offers first-hand knowledge of youth motivations and a reciprocal learning experience.

The collaboration between WICM and the Wilhelm-Leuschner School was facilitated by the IHK Wiesbaden. Last year, participating students visited the RheinMain Congress Center and Wiesbaden's Kurhaus during "Wiesbaden on Ice". This year, students also received support for their final presentations and attended the WiesPaten summer festival.

Mayor and Economic Development Officer Christiane Hinninger praised the involvement of WICM GmbH and the IHK Wiesbaden in supporting young people. She emphasised that the economy is aware of its responsibility towards society and the promotion of young talent, and is more than happy to fulfill it. Sabine Meder, CEO of the IHK Wiesbaden, stated that supporting young people is part of the IHK's DNA.

Shared experiences are a key part of WiesPaten, fostering relationships based on trust and appreciation. Regular meetings are held between students, student teachers, and employees of the patron institutions in WiesPaten. Knowledge transfer, academic support, and social activities are combined in these meetings.

Citizens can contact the relevant department or office with any questions regarding this press release. The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden issued this press release from Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden.

In conclusion, WiesPaten is a project that fosters youth empowerment through mentoring partnerships. WICM GmbH's sponsorship plays a vital role in enabling this educational and social exchange, benefiting both the students and the company.
