Schools in Verkhnecolymsk district are transitioning to shorter school days.
The Verkhnekolymsky District in Russia is currently grappling with heating issues, as temperatures both indoors and outdoors continue to drop. The first snowfall of the season fell on the night of September 9, marking the start of winter-like conditions.
Five boilers of the Verkhnekolymsky Branch are under electricity supply restrictions, forcing the boilers to be launched in the evening using backup power sources. However, the short-term nature of these backup power sources means that heating is only supplied for a limited period. As a result, heating in the district has yet to be properly supplied.
In an attempt to manage the situation, an order has been issued to change the operating hours of Zyryanskaya SOSh. Each lesson will now last 30 minutes instead of the usual 45 minutes, in an effort to conserve energy and maintain some level of comfort for students. Despite these measures, house temperatures in the district are still dropping, highlighting the severity of the situation.
The situation has been reported to all possible authorities, but a solution is yet to be found. The head of the administration of the Verkhnekolymsky branch of GUП "JHK RS" is currently not publicly available information. The district is hopeful that a resolution will be found soon, as the cold weather is expected to continue.
This news comes as a concern for the residents of the Verkhnekolymsky District, who are already facing the challenges of the cold weather. The district authorities are urging patience and are working tirelessly to find a solution to the heating issues. Updates on the situation will be provided as more information becomes available.
