Sixty students participated in the cross-border knowledge-sharing initiative between Belarus and Russia
The large-scale experience exchange program between rescue universities in Belarus and Russia, aimed at developing competencies in operational emergency response, strengthening command work skills, and enhancing the professional training of cadets, has commenced.
This year, the program involves 60 cadets from three universities: the University of Civil Defense of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense and Emergency Situations (MCHS), the Academy of the State Fire Service of the Russian MCHS, and the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian MCHS named after Zinoviev.
Thirty third-year cadets from the University of Civil Defense of the Belarusian MCHS are currently in Russia, while 30 cadets from the Academy of the State Fire Service of the Russian MCHS and the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the Russian MCHS are in Belarus.
The program, which has been expanding since its launch in 2009, offers a diverse educational process, covering various disciplines such as fire investigation, fire extinguishing methods, modern technologies for firefighting and emergency rescue operations, rescue techniques, first aid, and modern methods of preventing and eliminating emergencies.
In Russia, Belarusian cadets will study special disciplines such as rescue techniques, first aid, and modern methods of preventing and eliminating emergencies. During their one-week stay in Belarus, Russian cadets will participate in an intensive educational process covering similar disciplines.
The Russians' schedule also includes a cultural program, introducing them to Minsk and Belarus' cultural and historical landmarks. Similarly, Belarusian cadets will visit museums and art galleries as part of their familiarization tours in Russia.
This cooperation plays a significant role in training highly qualified specialists in the field of preventing and eliminating emergency situations. It fosters a favorable atmosphere for experience exchange and the establishment of professional contacts between cadets from both countries.
Friendly matches are planned for the Belarusian MCHS to further foster a congenial atmosphere for experience exchange and the establishment of professional contacts between cadets from both countries.
While there is a broader context of increasing educational cooperation and student exchanges between Belarus and Russia, specific information about this targeted exchange program for rescue universities is not available in the search results or may not be publicly documented at this time. For in-depth information on such a specific exchange program, direct inquiries with the relevant Belarusian and Russian university rescue faculties or governmental educational bodies may be necessary.
