Springtime concerts and workshops for children, presented by Classic for Kids, will extend its reach to five Romanian counties.
A Whimsical Musical Adventure in Romania for Kids
Get ready for an unforgettable musical journey across various parts of Romania in April and May! Titled "Classic for Kids," this unique experience will enchant children from 17 villages and small towns, thanks to the upcoming tour.
The tour will traverse the counties of Cluj, Maramureș, Bistrița-Nașa̧ud, Alba, and Sălaj, offering a delightful blend of classical music, interactive games, and captivating musical instruments that the young participants will get to play.
Pianist Bogdan Vaida and composer Anamaria Meza are leading the charge, eager to introduce the secrets of classical music to the little ones. Aspiring musicians will have the opportunity to take part in workshops and concerts at 17 schools, cultural centers, associations, museums, and even a castle – all free of charge!
"Kids are naturally curious. They don't differentiate between contemporary, classical, or pop music. They simply love music that's interesting or entertaining. That's exactly what this edition of the Classic for Kids project offers – musically vibrant stories brought to life by outstanding compositions," says pianist Bogdan Vaida, the brainchild behind the Classic for Kids project.
The 2023 tour takes the theme "Mozart and the Jungle" and follows the lively rhythms of contemporary classical music as children immerse themselves in the enchanting tales from the animal kingdom. The repertoire features a piece by renowned composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and animal-themed compositions penned specifically for this tour by composers Cip Pop, Cristian Bence-Muk, Șerban Marcu, and Anamaria Meza.
The tour caters to children between the ages of 6 to 10, offering an engaging mini piano concert and a music workshop during school visits. After the concert, kids will join an interactive rhythm and improvisation workshop, led by the delightful duo: pianist Bogdan Vaida and composer Anamaria Meza.
Fifteen out of seventeen events will take place within the schools, while the remaining two – scheduled for Târgu Lăpuș and Gilău – will be open to the public, with free online registration.
