Tech Policy Press Opens Applications for 2026 Fellowship

Tech Policy Press has opened applications for its 2026 fellowship cohort. The part-time, year-long programme supports journalists, researchers, and policy professionals exploring urgent questions at the intersection of technology and democracy. Fellows receive a $10,000 stipend, join an international cohort, and gain editorial guidance.

The fellowship, lasting from January 2026 to December 2026, is open to those with a strong background in tech policy, democracy, or society. Applicants should be able to work remotely as independent contractors. Information sessions will be held via ZOOM on September 9th and 16th, 2025.

Since its launch in 2023, the programme has supported 15 fellows from seven countries across two cohorts. Fellows have written on topics such as AI governance, tech regulation, digital rights, and the entanglement of state and corporate power. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. EDT on October 15th, 2025, and should include a CV, cover letter, and links to prior publications.
