Telecom giant BSNL partners with Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm, and Cisco to equip young individuals with knowledge in 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Networking.

In a significant move to accelerate India's digital transformation and strengthen the skilling ecosystem, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has entered into strategic partnerships with tech giants Ericsson India, Qualcomm Technologies Inc., Cisco Systems, and Nokia Solutions and Networks India. The collaborations aim to empower over 2,000 students annually with future-ready skills, leveraging global industry expertise combined with BSNL’s training infrastructure.

The partnerships were signed in the presence of India's Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, reflecting the alignment with government initiatives like Digital India and Skill India. The collaboration supports India's flagship missions -- Digital India, Skilling India, Make in India, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

One of the key collaborations is with Qualcomm Technologies Inc., which will establish a Qualcomm Institute at BRBRAITT, focusing on advanced 5G and AI training. The institute will offer premium content, live sessions, internships, and sponsored training for the initial 100 participants in the first year. Cisco Systems will enhance skills in networking, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure through the Cisco Networking Academy Program, while Nokia Solutions and Networks India will support the creation of a 5G Centre of Excellence and AI/ML Lab at BRBRAITT.

Ericsson India, on the other hand, will establish an Ericsson 5G Centre of Excellence at BRBRAITT to provide hands-on and online training through its global Ericsson Educate Program for over 2,000 students annually. BSNL will provide classroom infrastructure, and Ericsson will supply curriculum, trainers, and lab facilities.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, plans to establish a Telecom Innovation, Research and Training Centre (TIRTC) at BRBRAITT. TIRTC will focus on developing telecom-specific R&D talent and a future-ready workforce, aligning with the Prime Minister's vision of Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The advanced training initiatives in 5G, AI/ML, networking, and digital technologies will be rolled out at BSNL's apex training institute, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT) in Jabalpur. The MoUs signing ceremony was witnessed by dignitaries including Rakesh Singh, PWD Minister, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Ashish Dubey, Member of Parliament (Jabalpur, MP), and Neeraj Mittal, Secretary (Telecom).

These collaborations aim to form a broad consortium of Indian and global tech stakeholders to collectively drive training, innovation, and research in advanced telecom domains. The partnerships seek to create a digitally enabled, job-ready youth workforce and shape a self-reliant and globally competitive digital future. The courses aim to position Jabalpur as a hub for cutting-edge technology education.
