Telegram's Durov Inspires Rural Kazakh Students, Awards Grants
Telegram founder Pavel Durov recently visited Kazakhstan, inspiring rural students and promoting digital literacy. During his trip, he interacted with 500 children, answered their queries, and shared personal stories.
Durov, a patron of the IQanat school since 2024, awarded grants to 12 rural students. Among them was Timur, a 10th-grader from Bulaksaй village, who dreams of becoming a programmer. Timur has already created a Telegram bot and IT projects for his school, earning Durov's praise.
Durov held a masterclass at the IQanat school, urging children to spend less time on social media. He believes in the potential of rural students, stating that the project has nurtured future programmers, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Durov now mentors Timur, discussing video games and his projects with him.
The IQanat project, initiated by Durov, opens new opportunities for children from remote areas. It allows them to meet global leaders, gain knowledge, and pursue their dreams. Timur's success story is a testament to the project's impact, proving that geography need not limit ambition.
